Diamond Cattle Feeders specializes in personal attention not only to you the customer, but more importantly your cattle. Using various forms of risk management tools, Diamond Cattle Feeders can assist you in protecting your investment. Our main yard is located 4 miles south of Hereford, Texas, in the "Heart of Cattle Feeding Country." We currently have pen space for 10,000 head and are permitted for 20,000 head at our main yard. Additionally, we have a separate backgrounding yard that has space for 4,000 head and focuses its efforts on growing and managing high risk cattle. The location of our feedyards, combined with our knowledgeable employees, enable us to buy, feed, and sell fat cattle competitively. We use our size as an advantage. We are big enough to offer all the services of a large custom cattle feeder, but are small enough that our specialty is individual customer attention and hands on management of your cattle.

Diamond Cattle Feeders is owned by Allen Cansler, Joe Richards, and Burt Richards. In addtion to the management staff, Diamond Cattle Feeders enlists the advice of both a consulting nutritionist and veterinarian, and has an experienced team of professionals on our yard crew, cowboy crew, and doctoring crew.
Joe Richards was raised on a ranch in Fairfield, Texas. Joe received a Bachelor's degree in Ag Economics from Texas A&M in 1994 and a Master's degree in Ag Business from Sam Houston State University in 1996. Upon graduation he worked for Cactus Feeders in Amarillo, Texas, where he began learning more about the cattle feeding industry.

Allen Cansler was raised in Hereford, Texas. He graduated from West Texas A&M in 1970. Allen's first pen of cattle went on feed in 1968. He and his father built Cansler Feeders in 1972. The Canslers have fed cattle for themselves and customers for 30 years. Allen also operates a cow/calf ranch north of Hereford.
